#113 | Copy the formula of my top-earning articles ($10k+ each)

Hey

With content creation, the killer advantage you have over AI is that you are HUMAN.

And humans love humans.

But, don’t forget – You are not the main character.

Outside of your closest family and friends, nobody gives two shits about you or your opinion.

Which is kind of a paradox, right?

Well, yes.

But in today’s email, I’m going to show you how to take advantage of the facts that:

  1. Humans love humans
  2. Nobody gives a shit about you

to write fascinating articles that make over $10,000 EACH.

Ready to copy the formula of my top-earning articles?

Let’s do this…

First of all,

Let’s peek inside my Raptive dashboard to see how much each of my top-performing posts made from display ads over the past year…

Some of these did really well in organic search, whereas for others, most of the traffic came from Facebook.

That’s not really what’s important here.

The key factor that most of my best articles share – is that they collate data provided by real people.

What does that mean?

I’m not just giving my personal opinion (e.g. Rome is a good place to visit but it was very busy when I went)

Because nobody cares what I think.

I’m not just sharing facts (e.g. The most visited place in Rome is the Pantheon with 8 million tourists a year)

Because people can get those stats from official sources.

Instead, I’m collating data from real people and turning that into must-read articles.

Like these:

  • The 6 Most Overpriced Tourist Attractions in Rome
  • 7 Scams That Are Catching Out Tourists in Rome Right Now
  • So Expensive! How Do People Afford To Live In Rome?
  • 8 Amazing Restaurants in Rome That Locals Want To Keep Secret
  • The Worst Months To Visit Rome
  • 3 Italian Cities That Are Much Better Than Rome For Tourists

The service I’m providing here is gathering all the data from real people’s experiences and opinions, collating it, and delivering it in an easy-to-consume package.

That service is valuable, so articles like these often make 5 figures per year from display ads, as well as generating email signups that I can monetise with affiliates down the line.

How I’m gathering the data

There are various ways that I’m gathering that data. Here are some of them…

1. Status posts on Facebook.

If you have an engaged audience on Facebook, you can ask a question and then copy and paste all the replies into ChatGPT.

It can pull statistics for you and highlight the best replies to use as quotes.

E.g. if 100 people mention 30 different scams that they’ve been a victim of, it can collate the data to tell you which are the most common scams.

2. Reddit threads

If you don’t have an audience of your own, Reddit is a place where someone has already asked the questions and lots of people have answered.

All you need to do is paste the comments into Chat GPT and ask it to collate the data so you can turn it into an article.

3. Review sites

There are plenty of websites listing the ‘Top 10 hotels in Rome’.

But what about the worst 10?

You can collate the data from several different review websites and put it together to come up with a list of products that are consistently rated as the worst by users.

People want to know which to avoid.

4. Interviews

If you can make connections with a few people who are knowledgeable about a topic, you can interview them and collate their opinions.

For example, if you can ask just 5 experts for their best tips that most people don’t know, you can make a great list of tips.

5. TikTok

I suspect that there isn’t much of an overlap between people who use TikTok and people who use Facebook.

As a very rough line in the sand, you could say that those under 35 are mostly TikTokers, whereas over-35s are mostly Facebookers.

That means that there’s a lot of stuff going viral on TikTok that Facebookers just aren’t aware of at all.

You can collate the info and opinions from TikToks into articles and post them on Facebook for a new audience to appreciate.

Why I love this method

There’s no keyword research, you can just choose the topics you find interesting, because others will find them interesting too.

There’s no heavy writing. ChatGPT can do most of the work using the data you feed it, so you just need to edit for tone and style.

There’s no limit to your reach. You’re not trying to become number 1 by knocking others down! There’s room for everyone to create unique content that’s never been seen before.

I hope you find this helpful.
