Hello
I worked in an office environment for years.
I hated the queue for the water cooler.
On Mondays and Tuesdays, you’d have to ask how someone’s weekend was.
On Thursdays and Fridays, you’d have to ask what their plans for next weekend were.
And on Wednesdays, well, who knows…
I hated the small talk. The distractions. The idle chit-chat.
I hated the meetings.
I especially hated the meetings that were about future meetings.
I hated the fact that I couldn’t just get on with my goddam work in peace.
I love efficiency.
And offices are rarely efficient, in my experience.
Then came the dream of working solo.
And the dream came true when I quit my office job to work on my blog and do freelancing.
I threw out half of my clothes to make some space,
And then spent my days alone, working from this tiny closet…
It was bliss.
For a while.
But I soon realised that I couldn’t do it alone.
Very few people can.
If I were to succeed, I’d need help from others.
While I didn’t mind doing the simple and repetitive tasks, I could see that the only way to progess was to hand those tasks over to someone else.
Even with the extra help, I went through a stage of working way too much.
I had to be involved in every project.
I had little time for anything else.
I was on the path to burnout.
But this year, I turned a corner.
Rather than handing over simple tasks and micromanaging how they’re done,
I’ve now finally got to a place where I can just outsource whole projects and put trust in people that they’ll be done right.
That’s hard for a perfectionist like me.
Do you find that hard too?
Take my website, Vegan Wins, for example.
I haven’t done any of the work myself.
And it’s doing great.
(I’ll share some insights into the performance in a moment).
With this site, I simply placed an order for a Done-For-You Social-First Niche Site and Web Asset Builders did the rest.
This site aligns exactly with the strategy that’s working for me in 2024, with content that’s specially made to get traffic from social media and email.
It’s also doing a lot better than I expected with organic search, which is a nice surprise!
If you’re not sure, here’s exactly what Web Asset Builders take off your plate when you order a new site…
1. Competitor research
WAB look across the social platforms to find out what’s already working well and what competitors are doing.
I already knew that I wanted a site in the vegan niche, but if you haven’t yet decided on a niche, they can help with that too, based on the pros and cons of various niches.
2. Content planning
From their research, they plan out the topics that will work best on social media and email. Then, they create click-worthy headlines.
I already knew the magic formula for clickable titles, (it’s this), and I was impressed to see that the titles WAB suggested aligned perfectly with that.
3. Website Build
WAB took everything off my hands with regards to actually building the site. They even handled the fiddly bits with my domain and hosting etc.
You can have as much or as little control as you like with things like theme selection, colour schemes, logos, layouts etc.
4. Content creation
WAB write the articles in a way that hooks the reader’s attention from the start. There’s no fluff – the articles are the perfect mix of entertaining and educational. And the facts have links to credible sources.
Most of the articles were ready to go. There were a couple that I felt required adjustments, but the team at WAB were happy to redo them until I was 100% satisfied. Yay!
5. Content Publishing
The team at WAB take care of all of the publishing. They source great-quality free images, resize and upload them. They add internal links and style everything so it looks lovely.
It’s so refreshing not to have to train or manage VAs for a new site – I was just handed the finished product!
6. Lead magnet creation
You want email signups, right? Of course you do, so you can push your content (and affiliate offers) out by email.
WAB’s Done-For-You service also includes the creation of an engaging quiz that acts as a lead magnet to help build your email list.
(This extra service has been added since my site was built, but I’ll ask them to add it on!)
How the site is performing…
The site that Web Asset Builders made for me is now 90 days old, and has achieved 25,000 pageviews so far.
I’m happy with that.
Here’s where they’re from…
Email is a tricky one as I’ve mentioned the site a few times in this email as well as the Vegan Wins email and I’m finding it hard to see how many came from each in GA.
Organic search is doing well, and that’s almost all Facebook…
We’ve shared 1 link per day from the Facebook page for the past couple of months.
I have plans to ramp this up, when enough content is added, to avoid reposting the same links too often.
My next steps
I’ll be monetising the site with ads soon, but with a UK-based audience, that’s not going to be my main earner. It could be if you go for a US-based audience, of course.
The site is there primarily to help to grow the brand on social media and to grow the email list.
The email list is where I can monetise with affiliate links to products and make the most money.
I’ll also be able to offer promotional packages to brands – these will include blog posts that are promoted via Facebook and email.
Brands pay a lot for that.
To conclude…
I’ve finally found a way to get 10x more work done, without having to converse with colleagues in endless meetings.
And it feels GREAT!
By outsourcing everything, I simply place an order, then sit back and relax as experts handle it all.
I’m so happy I found Web Asset Builders and I’m sure I’ll work with them for years to come.
