#151 | Big changes

I love it when my team members take a week off.

No, seriously.

It means I can take over their role for a while, and there are some HUGE benefits to that.

If you have freelancers helping you out with any aspect of your business, then this email is for you.

I’ll also discuss some big changes I’m making with my Facebook stretegy while my Facebook manager is busy sipping pina coladas…

I have team members who handle various aspects of my niche website business.

They draft articles, source images, update older blog posts, write emails, manage brand partnerships, run my social media accounts and more.

Having a great team means that I output 10X more than I could do alone.

And, of course, make 10X as much money. Wooooo, money!

Let me tell you about how my team works…

I’m not saying this is the best way for you to work with freelancers, it’s just what I do.

To train the team, I make detailed SOPs (Standard Operating Procedure documents) with video tutorials –

This means that when I’m hiring, I don’t look for people with skills or experience.

I couldn’t care less if they’ve done the exact role for ten years already.

I can hire purely based on passion for the niche.

Why?

You can train people to do pretty much anything, except have passion.

I’m aware that this hiring strategy is the opposite of what many people do – which is hire people with experience, regardless of whether they are into the niche or not.

But hey, this is just what works for me.

Once the SOPs are in place and the systems are being followed, I generally leave people alone to get on with it.

I’m always available on WhatsApp if they have questions, but I don’t pay too much attention to the day-to-day.

That’s all fine, but it means that the output doesn’t improve over time, as people continue to follow the same procedure.

Flat graphs are fine, but ideally, we want growth.

So, when one of my team members takes a week off,

I take this as an opportunity to do an overhaul of the strategy and processes.

I take over their job, test things and change the plan accordingly.

At the moment, I’m doing consulting with Publisher in a Box – so this is the perfect time to redo my whole strategy.

They run hundreds of Facebook pages and have made over $10million from Facebook so far.

They have a ton more experience and knowlegde that someone like me who has only a handful of pages.

While I’ve been sitting back and letting me team follow the same old instructions, Publisher in a Box has been TESTING TESTING TESTING, via their huge network of Facebook pages.

As part of the consulting package I signed up for, I can copy their tried and tested strategies,

I’m also in a WhatsApp group so I can ask questions and get feedback straight away.

It’s SOOOO valuable to be able to say “Hello, Mr Expert, should I do this?”

And get an answer right away.

The biggest thing I learned about Facebook…

I’ve learned a TON since I stared working with Publisher In A Box, but my number one takeaway is…

Facebook is easy because you can see exactly what has worked for others.

If you see a post that has thousands of shares, you know that if you create something similar you have a high chance of getting good results also.

How to find viral posts to be inspired by.

I used to think that you could only look at competitors in your niche.

Nope!

My niche is narrow and nobody is doing a great job with Facebook to be honest.

However, I learned that you can look at what big pages are doing, find their top posts, and make them relevant to your niche.

These are the most widely viewed Facebook pages:

  1. LADbible
  2. UNILAD
  3. Netflix
  4. AmoMama Nostalgia
  5. People
  6. ABC News
  7. Magic Hands Creations
  8. Other Perspectives
  9. SportsCenter
  10. VT
  11. UNILAD Tech
  12. Tyla
  13. Chefclub Network
  14. ESPN
  15. LADbible Australia
  16. Jennie and Nick’s Brainteasers
  17. Just Amazing
  18. 5-Minute Crafts
  19. Dad Jokes
  20. E! News

According to the Facebook Transparency Center, these 20 pages collectively account for 1% of all US content views during Q4 2024.

Now you might open up the first one and see that they have a post about the Pope’s death and think – well, that won’t work for my Facebook page.

And you’d be right.

If you’re just scrolling through Facebook pages, you’ll definitely struggle to find things that are evergreen, related to your niche and viral.

And you do need all three of those, really.

This is where you need a Facebook analysis tool called Strevio.

I literally could not run my business without Strevio.

All you do is enter a Facebook page, and it sort all of their content by the top performing.

So now, in seconds, I can easily spot this post which got 14,000 shares…

This can be relevant to a ton of niches – food, travel, animals, veganism, legal, humour, etc

Once you’ve found a post you have two options…

1 – Write a similar article and link to it in the comment.

2 – Write a summary of the article in the description above the post. Use the comment section to link to an article you already have.

So, I may invest in a whole new article that covers this topic.

OR, I can just link to my existing article: ‘Why You Never Really Know What’s In Your Meat’.

I recommend that you get a free trial of Strevio here,

Just pop in some of those top pages I showed you and see what posts are working the best right now.

Starting from scratch is a mistake when you can start from what’s already been proven to go viral.

Also, if you really want to go big with Facebook in 2025, you can apply for a free 20-min consultation with Publisher in a Box here.

I’m excited to show my Facebook assistant the new system when she’s back from her hols.

I only wish Pinterest strategies were so easy to reverse-engineer!
